Diabetes is more common now. Because of sedentary or stagnated lifestyle of people. Which is not only making an individual obese but also lazy. Lack of physical activity leads to obesity. Obesity is one of the main reasons for diabetes.

Blood tests - This includes Fasting plasma glucose test - diagnosed if blood glucose level is above 126mg/dL

Oral glucose tolerance test- diagnosed if blood glucose level is above 200mg/dL

Random plasma glucose test- diagnosed if blood glucose level is above 200mg/dL

The food we eat is converted to glucose. This glucose flows in the blood of the human body. From there the glucose is stored as energy in cells. Insulin, a hormone secreted by pancreas, acts as key to pass glucose in the cells.

Diabetes is a condition where there is high blood glucose level in the body it may be due to cells not reacting with glucose i.e the receptors of the cells not responding to glucose, which may lead to a condition known as insulin resistance.

Other reason for diabetes is halt in production of insulin by the pancreas. This is due to autoimmune system the body which destroys the pancreas functionality leading to diabetes.

People who are more prone to diabetes or diagnosed with diabetes need to stay away from all kinds of bakery items. They need to take content rich in fiber. They should try to include more fruits and vegetables in their diet as they contain high fiber content.

Vegetables like Broccoli, carrot, peas - black eyed and green eyed peas, pumpkin, beans, spinach. Also eat fruits like Bananas, apples, and dry fruits like apricots, dates, raisins.

The things that are to be avoided are intake of alcohol, smoking. These two things should be totally avoided. They change the lifestyle of an individual.

The following steps can keep the diabetes in control:

1. Monitoring the weight of the body.

2. Exercise should be done on regular basis. Exercise promotes better blood circulation, lowers cholesterol level, maintains blood pressure in the normal range.

3. Following the medications prescribed by the doctor.


People who are suffering from diabetes generally complain about increase in urination, increased thirst, slow wound healing, tiredness,  irritation in skin.
